Many conventional personal care products contain synthetic fragrance blends made up of dozens—or even hundreds—of undisclosed chemical ingredients. While not all synthetic fragrances are harmful, some ingredients commonly found in fragrance formulations have raised concerns among researchers due to their potential effects on hormones, allergies, skin sensitivities, and overall health.

These ingredients are often referred to as "endocrine disruptors" because they may interfere with the body's natural hormone systems. Certain phthalates, synthetic musks, and other fragrance compounds have been studied for their potential role in hormone disruption, though research is ongoing and scientists continue to evaluate their long-term effects.

Rather than trying to determine which ingredients are safe and which are not, we choose a simpler approach.

Our products are made with ingredients you can recognize: nourishing oils, tallow, botanicals, clays, and carefully selected essential oils and natural fragrances. We believe simple formulas are often the best formulas.

That doesn't mean essential oils or all natural ingredients are perfect  or even safe for the skin and through this process we have learned that not every synthetic ingredient is harmful.
